Casey Lawrence, who works as a real estate agent in Rock Hill, made a shocking and heartbreaking discovery while showing a property. She stumbled upon a site that seemed to be a dumping ground for people involved in dog fighting. It was a sad sight to see bones and animal remains scattered all over the place. However, what broke her heart the most was finding a Pit Bull who was barely alive and severely injured. It was evident that the poor dog had been used as a bait dog and left there to suffer.
Casey acted quickly by giving the dog a new name, Rambo, and taking him to the Baxter Veterinary Clinic where the medical staff was faced with the seriousness of his injuries. Rambo had numerous bites and cuts, and his leg wounds had become infected with gangrene. The veterinarians acted promptly and began treating Rambo’s wounds with delicate care in order to increase his chances of healing.
Rambo was administered antibiotics and intravenous fluids under close supervision. He displayed promising signs within two days, including sitting up and slightly wagging his tail. His increased appetite was another positive development that gave hope.
Regrettably, Rambo’s health was still in a critical state, and his right hind leg was so badly wounded that it had to be amputated. After realizing the severity of his injuries, he was transported to the Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency (CARE) facility for additional medical care.
On their Facebook page, CARE has provided new information about Rambo’s ordeal with the ties that were wrapped around his ankles. These ties caused a lot of damage to both of his hind legs, but even after all of the cruelty that he endured, Rambo remained happy and affectionate. He wagged his tail and gave kisses to everyone who came to visit him. The medical team is doing everything they can to save Rambo’s left leg, but it’s still unclear whether or not they’ll be able to do so.
The animal rescue organization called Every Life Matters has taken up the responsibility of helping Rambo with his recovery. It’s fortunate that Casey, the real estate agent who found him, is also a board member of the rescue, ensuring that Rambo receives all the necessary aid. According to a recent update on YouCaring, Rambo has undergone his first surgery and is now in the process of recuperation. Despite feeling a bit drowsy from the anesthesia, he still managed to show his gratitude and attachment towards those who are taking care of him by gesturing with his paw for them to remain with him for a little while longer.
The story of Rambo is a shining example of how animals can bounce back and how the tireless efforts of kind-hearted people and groups can change their lives. Though his journey started in a gloomy place, he is now enveloped by a community that cares and nurtures him, giving him a chance at a better tomorrow.
