Known informally as “cow cats” among cat enthusiasts, Ziggy (also known as Ziggy-Kai) is a rescued cat with a coat pattern that immediately grabs your attention. Excitedly, I reached out to his owner and was delighted to receive permission to showcase this remarkably fashionable cat on my website.

Residing in the sunny city of Seal Beach, California, there is a delightful feline accompanied by his loving cat mom. When not luxuriating under the warm rays of the sun and seeking affection from his human companion, Ziggy-Kai is always prepared to strike a glamorous pose for the camera! Prepare to delve into the marvelous world of this exceptionally handsome kitty.
Ziggy-Kai’s journey into his human’s life commenced in February 2020 when he was adopted from the Huntington Beach Humane Society. After an extensive three-month search, his human had her heart set on a rescued kitty with a black and white tuxedo coat, reminiscent of her previous feline companion, Buddy, who lived a fulfilling life until the age of 14.
Originally bestowed with the name Marily, it didn’t take long for his human to realize that the title didn’t quite capture his true essence. Following careful consideration, she decided to christen him Ziggy, drawing inspiration from the alluring zigzag lightning bolt patterns adorning his legs. To further enhance his individuality, she added the name Kai, derived from the word meaning “ocean,” paying homage to their remarkable coastal abode.
Could you describe his character?
He is quite outgoing and not at all timid. One of his favorite pastimes is observing birds from my patio, and I have even trained him to go for walks with me using a leash. He is very attentive, especially when he senses that I’m feeling down – he will come and sit beside me, looking directly into my eyes. I simply adore this cat.
What are his preferred interests?
He particularly enjoys playing with pieces of string and small, fluffy objects, and he is remarkably adept at playing fetch – he will retrieve whatever I toss and bring it right back to me. He craves attention and thoroughly enjoys when my friends and clients come to visit. At times, he can be a bit bothersome since he always wants to be the center of attention. Nevertheless, he is incredibly sweet and special, and we cannot help but adore him wholeheartedly.

Do you have any interesting tidbits to share about your beloved Ziggy-Kai? Let me tell you, he has one peculiar obsession – he absolutely adores showering and getting his fur shampooed. It’s not just that though, he craves constant companionship and always wants to be by my side. That’s why every week, I make sure to give him a shower and keep him company throughout. But that’s not all, Ziggy-Kai has this funny habit of flopping himself onto the feet of anyone who walks into our house. He’s truly a delightful and entertaining character, which is why he has become my ultimate favorite companion.
